My professional education and ongoing training is in the field of psychodynamic psychotherapy, also called depth therapy. This type of therapy can help people better understand long-lasting patterns and open up space for lasting change to reduce distress, improve relationships, and find ways of living that feel like your own.
I approach my work with openness, humility and a desire to support you in your own process. I have a deep reverence for the joy and suffering that each person may experience and carry throughout life. I work to understand your experience in the context of your life, your history and your hopes for the future. My goal in our sessions is to create enough space and a trusting enough relationship that we can begin to unpack what you carry, as difficult or confusing as it may be, and explore new ways of seeing or coping with what we find.
My sessions are 45-minutes long and I meet with patients once or twice a week. Sessions are unstructured, but I will be keeping a focus on what initially brought you to therapy and the understandings about you we discover along the way.
